Programa

The International Network for Traditional Building, Architecture & Urbanism, INTBAU, is an international educational charity which works under the Patronage of HRH The Prince of Wales to promote traditional architecture, urbanism and crafts.

INTBAU Poland’s 2013 Summer School will be held from 1-13 July in Krakow (Cracow) and the mountainous areas of Małopolska, including Zakopane. The school, in the form of a workshop enriched with a series of lectures, is organised by INTBAU Poland Chapter in cooperation with INTBAU Italia and the Cracow University of Technology.

The aim of the school is an exchange of expertise and collaborative study in urban typomorphology, supported by practical exercises in traditional drawing techniques, measured drawing, photography, and character assessment of built environment. As a result, a number of place analyses and a pattern book will be collectively created for a sequence of public spaces in Krakow and for the wooden buildings of Southern Małopolska. The international group of tutors and trainers from Italy, Poland, United Kingdom and United States will work together with an international group of students and practitioners.

Applications for the 2013 Programme are now open to all individuals engaged in architecture, urban design and planning: students, practitioners and others interested in traditional building, architecture and urbanism, local identities and cultural heritage.
